HDB: BIDADARI BALLOTING RESULT

Today, alot of people will be happy, and unhappy. Remember to look on the bright side of the outcome and await for your next opportunity. Who knows you will get a better deal next time?

I was discussing about it with my girls clique and they were also talked about the queue number of people they know who bidded for Bidadari.
Alot of unsuccessful attempts!

I used to want to bid for Bidadari but after knowing how much it cost to live in a HDB, Nope, out of my range! Alot of Singaporeans have the mindset of buying first and sell later. It's funny how people would think tt its easy to sell after holding it for 5 years (HDB rule).

Let's look at the price.

My 5 room unit at Sengkang is around the price of a 3 room unit at Bidadari!!!
Not to mention, 3 room is $340k onwards...

Price of 4 room starts from this range to $500k. Unless you don't mind living on the lower floors, you will have to pay close to 500k for the higher floor units! Mature Estates units close to town are indeed expensive...

Let's see. 5 years later, will the HDB prices rise up again? What will be the future price of 4 room units? Still the same amount?
Nope, unless Singapore stops growing and experience a hyperdeflation, standard of living will still be high and most likely the housing prices will go up, up and up. After selling the bidadari unit, will you still be able to purchase another unit in the other area now that the prices have risen?
Most likely, we won't be able to get another value deal for our next purchase. Another bto, another wait. Standard HDB, renovation needed again. And again, who knows how much the housing prices would have risen in the non Mature areas after 5 years?

If given a choice, I would want to live near Holland Village. A few min ride and you will be in Orchard. What's more, you can get a bus ride back to Holland Village after shopping. Convenient and unfortunately not yet as popular as Bidadari.

Holland Village BTO is rare though. The closest would be ghim moh and bouna vista HDB. It's a growing media hub over there. Mediacorp, Luscasfilm, Ubisoft and alot of other media related companies. The prices for Bouna Vista isn't as expensive as Bidadari yet so I thought it would be a better investment than Bidadari.

Too bad, I'm not rich enough to get such luxury HDB!
I'm satisfied with my Sengkang unit though.
It was $300k+ for a 5 room. Value worth well.
Because of the affordable price, we managed to save pretty much for renovation.
So it isn't a bad deal isn't it. =)
